The London Indie RPG Meetup Group - or Indiemeet for short - runs regular analogue gaming events to play tabletop roleplaying games that focus on collaborative storytelling. For the London Games Festival, we’re running a special event where everything is video game themed, from Dragon Age to Dishonored, from Fallout to Fable. Though the exact lineup of games won’t be finalised until closer to the time, on the day there will be loads of fan favourites to choose from.
There are two game slots starting at 12:15 and 5:00, and anyone can come along to one or both. The slots begin with pitches where the person running each game explains what it’s about and how it’s played, then we separate into groups of 3 to 6 people to play the games we’ve chosen for around four hours. First time attendees get priority pick to make sure they always get a space in the game they most want to play.
We play games from local designers and around the world, and have a strong and inclusive ethos of supporting both new and existing game design talent in our community, from running playtests to holding dedicated game design sessions. Many of the games we’ll be playing on the day will be specifically adapted by local designers to fit the theme of the event, who will both host their games and be around to talk about the design process with anyone who's interested. Everything that happens on the day is thanks to the creativity of our attendees.
