Mark Tauschek (VP Infrastructure Research Practice at InfoTech) (https://www.infotech.com/profiles/mark-tauschek) will be speaking about emerging technologies, followed by a Q&A.

Mark says: "There is a tendency to see analysis of emerging technologies as a fun and frivolous diversion from real work. But while it can be fun, it is certainly not frivolous. Businesses rise or fall based on their abilities to anticipate disruption, and individuals keep or lose their jobs based on their own success in adapting to new technology. Here in 2016, it is clearer than ever that science fiction is no longer fictional. We are seeing technology transform every industry faster than it ever has before, and the building blocks are in place for even more radical transformation. The world will be a very different place in ten years."

The second speaker of the night will be Liam Nediger (VP of Application Development at InfoTech), doing a short talk about the Ruby on Rails Framework. Hold on to your seats!

Unlike our previous meetups which were at HackerStudios, this month's meetup will be hosted at InfoTech's King Street office, which actually used to be a restaurant and still has a bar inside of it!

InfoTech will kindly be providing some finger food, beer, and pop! This is an evening not to be missed :)
