For Software Engineers looking to rise in their careers, being able to speak in front of groups and communicate your thoughts is a vital skill. The trouble is that a lot of Software Engineers are fairly introverted by nature and a lot of us actually fear public speaking.
Aimed at people who are held back by their fear of public speaking, these meet ups will be experimental sessions with Stuart Dawson, Head of Engineering at Hubbub Fundraising (and former glossophobic). Based on learnings from various public speaking coaches and my own personal experience, we will address why it is we can struggle and how we can change the way in which we view public speaking. There will be plenty of practical exercises, giving everyone a chance to put concepts into action within a safe, supportive environment.
