Meet at the Sainsbury Wing entrance - On the bench facing the cloakroom. Plesae call me on[masked] if you cannot see me. All welcome! Please bring your own drawing materials. Tuition available from Mark Lovelace if desired, cost £6. We will draw in the galleries from 10.45 pm. (Alternatively if the weather is fine you may wish to draw in St James' Park) We will meet again at 12:45 pm in the Espresso bar on the ground floor near the Getty entrance. Please note NATIONAL GALLERY POLICY - use a hand-held pad and non-messy materials such as pencil, graphite stick, felt-tipped pen or Rotaring pen.
We have free use of the Map Room, on the ground floor, to your left as you face the bar. Newcomers are especially welcome. Please expect to sit for 15 minutes or so each. Please bring your own sketchbook and drawing materials with you. The pub does tea and coffee and food if you need it. There is no charge for this meetup but we encourage you to buy a drink at the bar and we occasionally ask for a small contributions towards expenses such as a new lamp. The Royal Inn on the Park, 111 Lauriston Rd, London, E9 7HJ. 10 minutes on bus routes 277 and 425 from Mile end tube station. When you come out of Mile End Tube Station, turn left, when you get to the crossroads, cross over and walk up the turning to the right to reach the stop for buses heading towards Highbury and Islington (277) or Clapton (425). The cafe is in Festival Walk between the Royal Festival Hall and the Hungerford railway bridge. Please call me on[masked] if you cannot see us. 1000 til 1130 Sitting for each other. Short sittings around 15 minutes. I will provide tuition and feedback, if desired. Beginners are especially welcome and I can take you through the first steps and hep you to gain confidence. I can also suggest some different ways of drawing for those with more experience. If you prefer, you are welcome to use the session to develop your understanding and skills in your own way, without tuition. After the workshop you can carry on drawing a the free portrait drawing meeting on level 5 of the Royal Festival Hall. After that, please feel free to join us for lunch at the Archduke nearby if you wish. There is another portrait drawing meetup there, with a model, starting at 1400. The fee for that one is £10.
Meet on Level 5 Blue Side facing the Thames. We start at 1145 and will be sitting for each other. Usually people sit for around 15 minutes but please consider sitting for longer or doing two short sittings so that we can make some serious studies rather than just quick sketches. The session is untutored, but you are welcome to share your drawings and encourage each other.
