Summer Strolls - Islington: That's Entertainment!

It's a Friday night and what better way to start the weekend - than with an after work entertaining guided walk through Islington, which has a long history of amusement going back to when folk used to flock to the area to visit the spectacular pleasure gardens! Nowadays, weekender’s still flock to the area to enjoy its pubs, cafés, restaurants, theatres & cinemas:

On this tour you will see the birthplace of Punk Rock which is now enjoying its 40th anniversary, a Chapel where the crème de la crème of music love to perform - which has won the Time Out best gig venue on more than one occasion - Take me to Church!

There's a local theatre which started life as a scientific institution where they once publicly unravelled a mummy! the unlikely site where the first film was publicly projected, and the place where Sting once gave his film acting début… You'll also see the launch pad of many a comedy career:

In amongst all of this you'll hear tales of male impersonation, a little love story and a curious act of benevolence by a very well known actress...

As we will be walking do wear suitable footwear. The tour last for around an 1 1/2 - 2 hours and finishes near Highbury & Islington Station.
