Christmas in Clerkenwell - guided walk for Shelter!

Details
Me & Simon are joining forces again and are going to take you on a detour through medieval Clerkenwell. You will encounter the old priory where the Knights Hospitaller used to reside, a church and a place that Charles Dickens knew and wrote about. We will tell you about the history of Christmas, you will hear surprising tales about its Pagan roots, how this influenced Christianity and the Victorians' take on it…

Have you also ever wondered why Santa visits? Some may remember a sixpence in their Christmas pudding, but why was it there? Why do we pull a cracker? Along the route we will share with you some interesting factoids... So that this tour will enlighten, surprise and entertain and you.

This walk is in aid Shelter which helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through their advice, support and legal services. Their mission is to make sure that one day, no one will have to turn to them for help. They are there so no one has to fight bad housing or homelessness on their own. In addition to this 120,000 children will be homeless this Christmas - let's help them!
