What are you motivations for joining this group and how would you be able to contribute to some of our objectives ?

My motivation to join this group is the discourse with like minded people and the contribution of my knowledge in the fields of statistics and machine learning. Furthermore, I believe that this group offers a great networking opportunity.

What would you ideally like to learn or achieve by joining this meetup group?

I have found that it is not easy to study the field of systematic trading as a student for once due to the limited number of books and seminars on the topic itself. By joining this group I would hope to get to know professionals who can help me get a clearer idea of the field and what topics it involves so that I can better direct my research in preparation for a career in systematic trading.


I am a recent physics graduate and postgraduate statistics student who is interested in algorithmic and especially high frequency trading.
