What we're about

The Meetup Group for London Vegans .
We are probably the longest established vegan social group in London.
We have monthly meetings in Central London on the last Wednesday of each month, as well as walks and other social events.

This group will promote London Vegans events as well as selected other vegan events.

The London Vegans web page can be found at http://www.londonvegans.org

All welcome, whether vegan or not, but we ask that only vegan food is consumed at our events.

Vegan Christmas Meal: Festive Fun, Food, & Merriment At Karamel

Karamel Vegan Restaurant

Merry yuletide everyone! Tis the season to be jolly, so let's have a gaye-old-time with festive vegan food and drink. You are warmly invited to join us for merriment and wonderful vegan food at the lovely Karamel, an all vegan restaurant, bar, and entertainment space, in Wood Green. Karamel will be hosting their annual yuletide meal so let's pop along and enjoy their hospitality. We'll provide the full details of their festive vegan menu once we have it, but to give you an idea this is what they served last year: 2018 Festive Menu*: 3 courses for £20, not including drinks: ★Starter - a choice of either soup or pate; ★Main - vegan yuletide roast with stuffing and sprouts and all the trimmings; ★Dessert - a choice of yuletide pudding, mince pies, or stollen, all with either brandy cream, custard, or ice cream. (*Actual menu and price for this year will likely be different.) Payment for your meal and drinks is really easy as you pay when you order at the bar, so no deposit is required from you. This is a joint event with London Vegans and the LGBT+ Vegans London Meetup group (https://www.meetup.com/LGBT-Vegan-London/). It should be a jolly festive occasion, with fab food and drink, and very merry vegans and friends. Ho, ho, ho! Can you please ensure that you keep your RSVP up to date. As we are booking space in a restaurant, we need to advise them of the exact number of people to expect. If things change for you and you can no longer attend then you must update your RSVP to 'Not Going', even at the last minute. It's also really helpful if the organisers and other attendees know how many people are going as it makes for a successful, fun and enjoyable event. Nearer to the event, you will be contacted on Meetup and asked to confirm your RSVP. If you reply and confirm your RSVP then a place will be booked for you. If you don't confirm then it will be assumed that you no longer wish to go and your RSVP will be cancelled. This is to ensure that everyone turns up who have said they will. In addition, on the day, your seat will be held for 15 minutes after which if you haven't told us that you're on your way, then the seat will be given back to the restaurant. We hope you understand the need for this booking policy. See you there! Karamel's facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/KaramelLondon.N22/ Karamel's website: http://karamelrestaurant.com/

Going Vegan will not solve our climate crisis. What else do we need to do?

Community Rooms, Millman Street (entrance next to 38a), Bloomsbury,

We welcome as our guest speaker Pawan Saunya from Zero Waste Club. If the whole world population consumed like an average Brit, we would need 3 planets to meet our needs. In this talk, we will look at how to stay within the resources of living on 1 planet. We will be exploring what are the biggest impacts we have, even as Vegans, and how to drastically reduce our impact and ensure we live within the one planet limit. Therefore, identifying the most crucial changes and actions one needs to perform and being certain about one's biggest impacts on resources. Our guest speaker is Pawan Saunya. Feeling the urgency of the climate crises, Pawan deferred university to co-found Zero Waste Club and Gomi. Zero Waste Club makes essentials out of ultra-sustainable and waste materials, hoping to close the loop on many wasteful materials streams. Gomi takes non-recyclable plastic waste such as plastic bags, bubble wrap and food wrapping and turns them into sustainable goods + gifts for large brands and SME's. -------------------------- ADMISSION: £3 (or £2 if unwaged/not working) payable on the door on the evening.
