What we're about

WiMLDS's mission is to support and promote women and gender minorities who are practicing, studying or are interested in the fields of machine learning and data science. We create opportunities for members to engage in technical and professional conversations in a positive, supportive environment by hosting talks by women and gender minority individuals working in data science or machine learning, technical workshops, networking events and hackathons. We are inclusive to anyone who supports our cause regardless of gender identity or technical background. However, in support of our mission, priority for certain events and opportunities will be given to women and gender minority members.

Our Code of Conduct ( https://github.com/WiMLDS/starter-kit/wiki/Code-of-conduct ) is available online and applies to all our spaces, both online and off.

• Follow @wimlds ( https://twitter.com/wimlds ) on Twitter for general WiMLDS news or visit http://wimlds.org ( http://wimlds.org/ ) to learn about our chapters in other cities.

About our speakers and their talks:

Dr Ariadna Blanca Romero, Enterprise Scale MLOps at NatWest: The Journey So far
Ariadna Blanca Romero is a Data Scientist/ML Engineer at NatWest with a PhD in Physics with expertise in computational material science. She is passionate about creating tools for automation that take advantage of the reproducibility of results from models and optimise the process to ensure prompt decision-making to deliver the best customer experience.

Ariadna will take us on Natwest Group's journey towards building a new MLOps platform that streamlines the entire machine learning lifecycle. This platform aims to boost team productivity, reduce manual workflows for building, training, and deploying models, maintain high model
accuracy, and enhance security and compliance.

Dr Clare Watts, MLOps case study: Customer Lifetime Value
Clare Watts is a Data Scientist at NatWest with a PhD in Materials Science. She moved into the field after discovering coding and data science through using MatLab for signal processing and machine control and has been working as a Data Scientist in the Wealth Data and Analytics department for almost two years.

Clare will walk through a use-case currently being migrated to the new MLOps platform in Natwest. The complex ensemble model uses a suite of estimators to predict Customer Lifetime Value as well as propensity to take up certain products. The modelling approach, as well as a brief overview of some of the codebase changes required to migrate to the new platform will be discussed.
