As a non-pro newbie to Wordpress this was a bit more technical than I was expecting. I found the first two presentations useful (once I've caught up on my coding!) but the third was over my head. However, I really appreciate all 3 speakers for putting themselves up there and sharing their time and knowledge. If the 3 speaker format is the template for this group meetup, perhaps there could be a beginner, intermediate and advanced wordpress presentation? Again I do understand this means people putting themselves up there and I know speakers put in a lot of their own free time preparing slides, powerpoints etc. I look forward to further meetups in the future!

Further to my quick mention last night of WordCamp Edinburgh UK 2012, to be held on the weekend of 14-15 July 2012, here's where you can get tickets http://2012.edinburgh.wordcamp.org/tickets/

Well attended meetup, time constraints lead to hurried presentations, as presenters we were trying to fit a lot into a short time, this meant that the presenters could only show a quick overview, and most of the working examples were skipped.

Possible two hour format could be just two presentations, Announcements 5 - 10 Minutes, Presentation 1: 30-45 minutes presentation inc Q&A's, 5-10 minute icebreaker (drinks, toilet, chat), Presentation 2: 30-45 minutes inc Q&A's, spare time general Q&A's and any other business!

I would love to be part of a 'one day' practicle workshop?

Ben, this might be useful: http://tinyurl.com/wpldn01

I usually use Barbican but it depends where you're coming from.

  • Scott C.

@Ben - Old Street or Barbican. Both about 10 min walk away.

Hi Ben, Skills Matter are happy for you to attend - as am I. Please identify yourself to me when you arrive. See you there. Graham

Ben, I will check with Skills Matter and get back to you. It will obviously rule you out of the pub bit I'm afraid.

Chris, Access to Skills Matter room will be from 6pm or potentially 5:30pm if no-one in beforehand. I'm told that there are both Starbucks and Costa nearby - believed with wi-fi. There are also a couple of other independent cafes too that Skills Matter staff use sometimes.

    @ Steve
Will be posting the WP Search presentation (slides notes examples etc) online after the meeting - guess SkillsMatter will provide a video

Can't make this one, but VERY interested in the WP search bit - a vital and badly-covered area. Hopefully you can post a video / slideshow / notes?

Chris, I will find out what time the area at SkillsMatter is available from.

Aw! That is unfortunate :-( Thanks for the reply Keith.

    Hi Bassu,

They didn't have any availability for June unfortunately. We'll be back there in August.

The good thing about Skills Matter is that they will video the meetup for us. I know that it's no substitute for being there but it's the best we've got.
