London dbt Meetup #3

Details

Come mingle with dbt users and members of the London analytics community!

After the highs of the first London dbt meetup and the even higher highs of the second meetup, we are set to bring you a trilogy (read: summer) ending meetup that will set up the dbt meetup universe for prequels, spin-offs and comics for years to come. Get the date in your diaries!

The amazing team at RVU will be hosting the event at their offices right by Tower Bridge. We've got some really interesting talks lined up and are excited to share them in the coming weeks!

We have some great talks lined up:

How (not) to talk about dbt

Matthew Ferry from RVU will provide a candid overview of their dbt deployment, walking us through what went well and, possibly more importantly, what didn't. The talk will cover how to bring an organisation along with the roll-out of a new technology, how deploy dbt with transparency, and how to prototype effectively.

Analytics on your Analytics - insights 18 months into dbt

Alan Cruickshank from Tails.com will discuss what a slick, smooth-running, mature dbt deployment looks like. The talk will include pretty charts to show how they monitor and improve use of dbt at tails, as well as how they manage continuous deployment, testing and alerting.

The agenda will be as follows:

6pm: Doors open, networking, food, drinks.
7pm: Talks starts!
8pm: Talks finish, Q&A.
8:15pm: Further drinks and networking

The event is generously hosted by RVU at their London offices.

About dbt

For anyone unfamiliar with dbt: dbt is the T in ELT. It lets you organize, cleanse, denormalize, filter, rename, and pre-aggregate the raw data in your warehouse so that it’s ready for analysis. More info at https://getdbt.com.
