Enjoy playing badminton and meeting new friends? Join us at the London Social Badminton Meet Up!
We are a friendly and fun group with people from all around the world. We love badminton, we love socialising, we love socialising while playing badminton - you get the idea. So come along - keep fit, meet other badminton players, and have fun!
We play four days a week, each session has 4 courts and we use plastic Yonex Mavis 600 shuttles:
Mondays - 7-9pm (2 hrs)- Chobham Academy, E15 2ER - Stratford - £6.50
Wednesdays - 7-10pm (3 hrs)- Chobham Academy, E15 2ER - Stratford - £7.50
Thursdays - 7-9pm (2 hrs)- Chobham Academy, E15 2ER - Stratford - £6.50
Saturdays - 2-5pm (3hrs)- Globe Academy, SE1 6AF - Elephant & Castle - £8

1) IS THE CLUB OPEN TO BEGINNERS?
Yes we are open to all levels. Majority members are intermediate level but we have beginners and advanced players as well. It would be helpful if you know the rules and basics but if you don't, you are still welcomed!
2) CAN I PUT MY BIKE SOMEWHERE?
There aren't any bike rails directly outside the academy but you can bring your bike in and leave it in the sports hall. You can also lock them to rails inside the car park across the road.
3) IS THERE CHANGING ROOM & SHOWER?
4) DO I NEED TO BRING MY OWN SHUTTLECOCKS?
No, it's included in the price, we use quality Yonex plastic shuttlecocks.
5) I DON'T HAVE A RACKET, CAN I HIRE ONE?
Yes, it's available for hire for £1.50 per session.
6) IS THERE ANY MEMBER DISCOUNTS FOR STUFF?

No Shows and Last Minute Cancellations
We need your help to make it fair for others who wants to play. In light of that, our rules for No shows and Last minute cancellations are:
All no shows will be charged - you won't be able to play until you pay any outstanding sessions.
All last minute cancellations (less than 24 hr notice to event time) will also be charged if your spot is not taken up by someone else.
To help govern this, we will be placing a title next to your name to state how much is owed and what is owed for. An Organiser will email you in the instance that you are owing a session.
Note: Meetup now uses an Automated Waitlist. This means that if you are on the Waitlist and a spot becomes available, you will automatically be bumped onto the On list provided the event has not yet started. It is your responsibility to remove yourself from the Waitlist if you can no longer make it to avoid being charged a no show if someone cancels late (as you will technically be taking the spot of the person who cancelled).
Re Insurance: we are an informal, social group so are not covered by any insurance. So please note we are not responsible for any injuries or lost occurred as a result of your participation. Please arrange your own if would like to be covered. You are advised to always do (and please do!) warm up before playing.
