NO SHOWS AND LATE CANCELLATION POLICY

We need your help to make it fair for others who wants to play. These rules will apply to you:

• All no shows or late cancellations (24 hrs or less) will be charged if your spot is not taken by someone else - you will have a title next to your name with amount and date owed.

• Members with 3 no shows/late cancellations will be removed from the group unless outstanding payment is received

• The late cancellation policy is set up to discourage last minute cancellations and therefore applies with or without the presence of a wait list

• Note: If you are on the Waitlist and a spot becomes available, you will automatically be bumped onto the On list provided the event has not yet started. It is your responsibility to remove yourself from the Waitlist if you can no longer make it to avoid being charged a no show if someone cancels late.

FAQs

IS THE CLUB OPEN TO BEGINNERS?
Yes. Majority of members are intermediate level but we have beginners and advanced players as well. It would be helpful if you have looked up the rules and basics before you come though!

HOW DO I PAY?
With cash on site to the organisor or via bank transfer: https://monzo.me/jinghanzhao (http://monzo.me/jinghanzhao) (use ‘your name + session date’ as reference - you don't need a Monzo account for this to work)

WHEN DO I PAY?
Before you start playing. If the organiser is not accessible, pay during, but not at the end of the session. It’s your responsibility to pay BEFORE the session ends - members who leaves without paying will be warned the first time and removed from the group the second time.

THE LIST IS FULL, CAN I COME?
You need to wait for a space to become available. You can add yourself to the wait list so that when someone cancels, you WILL get a spot in the order of RSVP. (Just make sure to check if you've been 'given' a spot to avoid being charged No Show.)

I DON'T HAVE A RACKET, CAN I HIRE ONE?
Yes, it's available for hire for £1.50 per session.

CAN I PUT MY BIKE SOMEWHERE?
There aren't any bike rails directly outside the academy but you can bring your bike in and leave it in the sports hall. You can also lock them to rails inside the car park across the road.

IS THERE CHANGING ROOM & SHOWER?
Yes, both.

DO I NEED TO BRING MY OWN SHUTTLECOCKS?
No, it's included in the price, we use quality Yonex plastic shuttlecocks.

IS THERE ANY MEMBER DISCOUNTS FOR STUFF?
Yes, we negotiated a 5% off racket sports equipment at tennisnuts.com, use
Voucher ID: 61068
Password: discount
See discussion board for details on how to use( http://www.meetup.com/badminton-60/messages/boards/thread/23098742 ).

Re Insurance: we are an informal, social group so are not covered by any insurance. So please note we are not responsible for any injuries or lost occurred as a result of your participation. Please arrange your own if would like to be covered. You are advised to always do (and please do!) warm up before playing.

New Waitlist System - This will affect you!
Needs a date and time

Needs a location

Due to the popularity of our weekday sessions, we've received a few complaints that people have not been able to get a spot on the attendance list due to sessions being filled weeks in advance. In the interest of fairness, our Stratford sessions (Monday, Wednesday & Thursday) will now follow the same RSVP settings as our Saturday sessions at Elephant & Castle. 1) NEW RSVP Settings for Stratford: RSVP for each session will remain closed until 1 week before the event starts when it will automatically open for registration to the hour. If you currently have RSVP'd for future sessions, they will remain there. However, if you take yourself off the list, you won't be able to add yourself back on until RSVP opens. 2) NEW Wait list system - Meetup has introduced an change to the wait list system since September 2016. WHAT IS IT ABOUT? • In the past, organisers can offer a waitlist (or not) for their events (we did). If a session is full, you can choose to be on the waitlist, and CHOOSE if you want to accept a spot if one comes up • Now, when a spot comes up, you will be AUTOMATICALLY RSVPed - in the order in which you joined the waitlist WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR YOU? *IMPORTANT!!* This means if you put yourself on the waiting list: • You need to know you risk being 'given' a spot (and hence the responsibility/charge for the spot) - even if it's only 5 minutes before the session starts • If you can't make the session, please make sure you REMOVE YOURSELF from the waitlist, once your own internal/private deadline for being able to get to the session has passed • This saves you from automatically being added to the Yes list when someone cancels • If you don't, you WILL be charged if you cannot make it to the session as per our No Show / Late Cancellation policy • If you are on the waiting list, you will want to check if you have been 'given' a spot before the event, to avoid being charged for 'no show' -------------------------------------------------------------------------- FAQs: Q: You say if someone cancels even 5 mins before and the next person on the wait list automatically moves to attend, how are they supposed to make it across London in time ? A: That's why we said that you should set your own internal deadline - for example, say to get to a 7pm session, 5pm is the latest you need to know (your internal deadline). And if you still don't get a spot by 5pm, you should remove yourself from the waiting list to avoid being charged. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact us or speak to any organisers during a session. Your LSBC organisers x
