Tools for Working with Excel in Java

Excel is the de facto spreadsheet application for many business users. Despite this, developers often neglect to cater for Excel users when designing solutions to business problems. This talk will look at a selection of tools available for working with Excel in Java. We will look at outputting reports as Excel files, automating Excel tasks, and writing Excel add-ins to call Java from Excel.

Patterns for building Kafka Streams applications from the trenches

Stathis will talk us through his journey using Kafka Streams as a stream processing library to build reactive backends.

Throughout his journey, he discovered patterns, pitfalls, and learned quite a few lessons. He'll talk about the production issues faced, resolutions found, as well as demonstrating some of the use cases and why he chose Kafka Streams.
