In this talk Mey Beisaron will focus on why to do a tech talk and how it helped her in both her personal & professional life. She will also give multiple examples of the "worst" things that happened to her during tech talks!

In Search Of The Perfect Conference Abstract

What are the elements of getting accepted to speak at a conference? In this session we’ll introduce you to the mechanics of conference submissions, provide some basic advice on how to craft a submission that will make you stand out and provide a few tips and traps along the way.

About the speakers

Mey Beisaron is a Software Engineer, a Backend Developer and a public speaker.

When she is not spending her weekends coding games or speaking at tech conferences, she experiments with algorithms or learns languages such as Russian, Scala & Golang. Mey is also a sworn star wars fan. Mey the force be with you.

Steve Poole is a Developer Advocate, DevOps practitioner (whatever that means), and long-time IBM Java developer, leader, and evangelist. He has been working on Java SDKs and JVMs since Java was less than a year old. He has also had time to work on other things including representing or leading various JSRs, and being a committer on open source projects including ones at Apache, Eclipse, and OpenJDK.

He is a member of the Adopt OpenJDK group championing community involvement in OpenJDK, and is a seasoned speaker and regular presenter at international conferences on technical and software engineering topics.
