Long Island Single Parents is for single parents of kids aged 4 through 14. We will organize fun activities for kids and parents, the occasional travel experience, and - if there is a desire - get togethers only for parents.
Our group is designed to be welcoming to all with the goal of making new friends, both among the adults and the kids. While the organizer lives on the north shore of Nassau County and most events will be in that area, activities might expand to other regions as the group becomes bigger.
The Long Island Children's Museum has a children's show playing that features Aesop's tails including The Tortoise and the Hare, The Boy Who Cried Wolf, The Lion and the Mouse and more.
Tickets to the show are extra but many libraries have museum passes you can borrow for museum access.
We will meet for lunch at 11:30 AM at a nearby restaurant so we can get to know each other (kids and adults), head into the museum, and then watch the show at 2:00 PM. RSVP you are attending and then make sure to purchase tickets to the show. If you can't make lunch, we'll meet you in the museum.
See https://www.licm.org/calendar/event/theater-aesops-fables-2-23-19/ for details.
The Cultural Arts Playhouse (www.culturalartsplayhouse.com/childrens-theater/) produces high-quality, low-cost community theater including productions for kids such as the Wizard of Oz. Tickets are $13.50 including the booking fee. To join, RSVP here that you are attending and book your own tickets online. Our group is sitting in the even numbers of row C but anywhere nearby is fine.
We'll plan to meet in advance for lunch so we can get to know each other. Details to be provided based on numbers.
Join us on a five-day Colorado Family Multisport Adventure!
This trip is being run by Zephyr Adventures, the tour company I own and operate, and so will have families from around the country and both single parents and intact families. So far, we have 12 people in four families from four states participating. This includes my daughter and me.
This is a full-service vacation including ground transportation in Colorado, hotels, breakfasts, dinners, activities, and one or two professional guides who work for Zephyr Adventures. The trip is not inexpensive but you get a lot for what you pay. Plus, these family tours are fun!
See our website for details:
I hope you can join us.
