Have you ever tried to learn program, whew, you can spend weeks just covering theory then your rewards is "hello world" printed to your computer screen. :-(
** p5.js is for writing software to make images, animations, and interactions. It was designed for artists not software engineers.
The idea is to write a single line of code and have a circle show up on the screen. - Add another line of code and watch the circle change colors. We call this /sketching/ with code. You write one line, then add another then another and so on. **
Check out what Nick coding: Click to play with p5.js (http://nickgs.com/code2art/)

Join us for an amazing evening of exploration into the emerging world of Computational Art, exploring the intersection of design, art, and technology. This is a fascinating area where right brain meets left brain, enabling artists to code and vice versa.
To make this a hands-on learning experience, A+ STEM Labs (http://www.aplusstemlabs.com/)is lending us 30 laptops for the evening. We will be taught to use a programming language designed for artists called P5.js (https://p5js.org/) Laptops will be distributed "first come first serve" based on your RSVP. (if you are bringing a guest you are welcome to share the laptop)
Stack Starter stackstarter.io (https://stackstarter.io/) will be helping out with our tech for the night.
You can bring your own laptop, I will email instructions on how to download the free software for those that have RSVP'd
There is a $6 charge for this event.
Five Town College (http://www.ftc.edu/) will be our event sponsor and will be buying us pizza and soda.
