What we're about

This meet up is dedicated to helping Long Island women meet others to relax, have fun, and make friendships. In doing so, we will also explore some of the fun things our Island has to offer! Activities will include dinner, movies, park explorations, trips into the city, fairs, festivals, trivia nights, and whatever else these lovely ladies can think of!

This group is for women in their 20s through 40s interested in making some new friends.

We think it is important that people who RSVP attend. Thus, we are employing a three strikes rule. If you are a no-show after RSVP'ing “yes” three times, or, if you RSVP "yes" to a meetup, but then change your RSVP to "no" within 24 hours of the event, you will be removed from the group after 3 instances of either or both of these behaviors. Life happens, and sometimes you will genuinely need to change your RSVP on short notice. When this occurs, please leave a comment on the event page explaining your change in RSVP, and it will not be held against you. Failure to explain your absence, or simply not showing up, 3 times will result in your removal from the group.

We take this group seriously and expect all members to do the same. The purpose behind this group is to meet new people and create new friendships, but this goal cannot be achieved if people do not attend meetups, as indicated. It is rude to those attending, and it's annoying. We will not tolerate flaky behavior and will terminate memberships, as necessary.

We want this group to be fun and exciting, and so far we have had a lot of great meetups! We would love to see more new and familiar faces come out to these events. New meetup ideas are always welcomed, and we hope to see you soon!

Lunch and a Stroll at Planting Fields Arboretum

Planting Fields Arboretum

Let's have a BYO picnic and stroll the gardens at Planting Fields Arboretum. We will meet on the big lawn behind Coe Hall (the mansion at the garden). Bring lunch/snacks/drinks, and a blanket to sit on (there aren't tables or chairs). Whatever you bring you must carry as we walk around. There is an $8 parking fee. https://plantingfields.org/plan-your-visit/ Bad weather cancels.

Food Truck Friday in Levittown

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church

Why Cook Wednesday with the food trucks was a lot of fun (with great food) so we're headed back on a Friday evening before the weather gets cold and the food trucks go into hibernation until spring. This is a great way to grab a quick bite together while social distancing. There's a lawn next to the parking lot, so be sure to bring a chair (and maybe a small table if you have one). Start time is listed as 5:45 since it gets darker earlier (booooo), but no problem if you can't get there before 6:00. MASKS ARE REQUIRED WHEN NEAR THE TRUCKS & PLACING AN ORDER. The trucks on-site are listed a few days before the event. (Fingers crossed for All American Wontons) You can take a look at the trucks that have been there all summer below. There is definitely something for everyone! https://www.instagram.com/levittown_food_truck_fridays/ https://www.facebook.com/levittownftf/ Bad weather cancels.

Explore the Stump Pond Loop Trail at Blydenburgh Park

Blydenburgh Park

This event requires all participants to mask up the ENTIRE meet up (no noses hanging out either). Do not RSVP if you arent willing to do this! No food at this meetup, and if you want to bring a drink you will have to space yourself six feet from the group to remove mask. Sorry folks, crazy world we live in!! Lets see some fall folliage and explore! I’m putting this far enough into fall that we should be able to see some colors. They have six miles of trails and a semi-hidden gem so should not be too crowded. Dont worry I have no intention of doing all six miles :)

Chill Sunday Dinner in Wantagh

Sunrise Diner

Once while visiting family in Texas, I was asked to explain a diner, and had a difficult time doing so. Why? Because a diner is everything and anything you want it to be, and is about as Long Island as it gets (with the exception of maybe Billy Joel). For over 40 years, the Sunrise Diner has proven that you do not need to sacrifice quality and freshness, making it one of the best rated diners on the Island. They go the extra mile for quality, with the emphasis placed on fresh ingredients, careful food preparation, and friendly and attentive service. This includes: -Antibiotic free chicken -Farm fresh eggs -Fresh fruits and vegetables -Fresh beef burgers delivered daily Learn more and check out the extensive menu here: https://www.thesunrisediner.com/ They do have outdoor dining, so we will plan for that. Please indicate in your RSVP if you would feel comfortable sitting inside if the weather is bad.
