What we're about

Many of us are new to Long Island City, and some are even new to Queens. We've got an awesome neighborhood, great areas to run and there are lots of cool people in our 'hood. It's time to bring all of this together to make it all even better.

Our goal is to build a non-competitive, socially focused community of runners and fitness-focused people in LIC. We'll organize group runs, social outings and other adventures of interest. You can be a veteran ultramarathoner who has completed 30 races in the past month, a workaholic who finds time to run once per year or someone with a keen interest in running and are not sure where to start. You've all come to the right place.

This is your group - let us know when, where and how you want to run. Any and all suggestions are eagerly welcome.

(4-6 Miles) When: Every Saturday at 7AM starting on August 1st Where: Meet at John Murray Park on the corner of 45th Rd. and 11th St. (near the Citibikes). The route is TBD and may vary for the week; routes will be optimized to allow social distancing while running and avoid large crowds. We will wait up to 5 minutes for late arrivals, so please be prompt! All paces are welcome - no one will be left behind!

Monday Evening 4-6 Mile Run!

For now, attendees will be limited to 6 people (1 host [Daniel Zheng] + 5 attendees) - so you MUST RSVP in advance, and your RSVP must be updated as needed to remain accurate, so that you do not take the place of another runner. There will be no bag check. • What we'll do What: Evening Run! (4-6 Miles) When: Every Monday at 6 PM starting on September 14th Where: Meet on the northeast corner of Queens West Sports Field (46th Rd. and 5th St.) The route is TBD and may vary for the week; routes will be optimized to allow social distancing while running and avoid large crowds. We will wait up to 5 minutes for late arrivals, so please be prompt! All paces are welcome - no one will be left behind!

Wednesday Morning 3-ish Mile Run!

Long Island City

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE: All runners are required to wear a mask or face covering and maintain social distancing at all times. For now, attendees will be limited to 6 people (1 host [Gray Jones] + 5 attendees) - so you MUST RSVP in advance, and your RSVP must be updated as needed to remain accurate, so that you do not take the place of another runner. There will be no bag check. What: Morning Run! This is a no drop run for time: 14 minutes out along the waterfront and 16 minutes back. Beginners welcome! Dogs welcome! Gray will be bringing his dog. She loves new people, but is afraid of other dogs. Please maintain 10 feet of social distancing between dogs! When: Every Wednesday at 7AM starting on September 9th. Don’t be late, Gray has to catch the 7:36 ferry to get ready for work! Where: Meet at the Long Island City ferry stop at 46th Avenue and the waterfront (not the stop at Hunter’s Point). The route is TBD and may vary for the week; routes will be optimized to allow social distancing while running and avoid large crowds.
