The Longmont Secular Parents group is a space for families to meet and create a sense of community without religion. Moms, dads, and children without religion, or with unconventional beliefs, can connect, network, and share good times. Raising a family in a secular way has special challenges. Religious families have advantages, such as community and services that families without religion often do without. Our goal is to establish a community where parents can feel free to connect with other like minded families.
Hi everyone! It's a new year, and the group's growing, so I thought it might be nice to meet and get to know your fellow Secular Parents.
So far, the group has mostly been playdates and kid friendly activities (which is wonderful!) but I'm trying to gauge interest in possibly starting a monthly meeting where we could meet, with kids or without, and talk about issues important to the secular community. If you're interested in something like this, or if you're happy with the way things are already going in LSP, please comment and let me know.
Also, if you are interested in a monthly meeting, please throw out some suggestions for the best times that would work for meeting up.
I'd love to get some feedback, so we organizers can make this a strong, supportive community.
