happy thanksgiving all you cheeseheads!!!

what a glorious day!! i’m just kidding. i’m sitting here watching the vikings beat the lions and to be honest, i’m hoping an earthquake opens up the ground under the stadium and swallows up both teams and the fans. that would definitely help out the packers this season.

so shit. last week was bad. no points scored. that was a tough one to watch. to give you all perspective, that was the first game i haven’t played ‘bang on the drums” for the entire game since my 10 years doing this. i did however play it in my car on the way home as i sobbed into my rodgers jersey. it was a good cry. perhaps i have too much vested in the packers?

but i’m not going to talk about last week. i’m not going to talk about my thoughts on hundley, capers, mccarthy, the packers in general. i want to keep these blogs positive. there is enough negativity and bullshit in the world (please see the FCC’s ruling on net neutrality) and to be honest, i love this team no matter what. if you don’t, the seahawks have a black friday sale on jersey’s. go ahead and get yourself one. #fairweatherfan

so this week the packers take on rapethlisberger’s steelers in pittsburgh on sunday night. the steelers are in the midst of a 5 game win streak and now sitting at 8-3 after a slow start. but yet there is hope. this 5 game win streak comes with wins against the bengals, lions, colts, and titans who have all been struggling this season. even the chiefs, who pittsburgh beat by only 6 points, couldn’t pull off a win last week against the giants.

so yes, once again…i’m saying…we have a chance. if we pull a win this week and don’t shit the bed, the packers can pick up wins from the bucs and browns before facing the panthers along with rodgers possible return. at 5-5 our playoff chances aren’t quite over if we pull off wins these next three weeks. we would be sitting at 8-5 and facing two division games in the last 3 weeks. so yeah, there’s that.

and today? i’m having a couple drinks, eating some turkey, probably fighting with some family members, maybe kissing a cousin (i don’t know where the night will lead.) and enjoying the day. because come sunday, i’m strapping up in my green and gold and heading to the bar to watch my packers play some god damn football. worst case scenario at the end of the day, at least your last name isn’t ball.

my prediction: not going to lie, this is going to be a tough win. it might even be a bit frustrating. but hey, we will drink some beers, scream and yell, and hopefully play a little bit of tom rundgren this time around. packers 21 – steelers 14.

so this is the time of year everyone posts shit on facebook about how thankful they are and how much they love their families they are about to argue with at the dinner table, blah, blah, blah. but to be honest, i am thankful for all of you. you guys make this group possible and without you all, well let’s be honest, i’d have much more time on the weekends, but honestly i wouldn’t have it any other way. am i a hero? some say yes. so do i. but more importantly, you all make this group and without you i’d be sitting at a bar alone, crying about the packers, probably next to some drunk asshole cheering for the opposite team. instead, i look forward to sundays win or lose because i get to watch with some of the greatest fans in sports. thank you all. enjoy thanksgiving with your friends and family. see you at the bar sunday for a solid ass kicking, and as always…GO PACK GO!!!
