Have you ever wanted to buy a multi-unit real estate property in Los Angeles but didn't know where to start? Or are you an experienced investor with multiple income properties? Or maybe you want to buy an investment property, but are concerned about property management?

The LA Multifamily Real Estate Networking Group is for you! We're looking for beginning as well as experienced investors who want to (or already have) invest in multifamily properties in Los Angeles. We meet once a month to go over various topics on multifamily investing including: market climate in different neighborhoods, financing, leveraging, rent control, landlord-tenant issues, property management, short term rentals, 1031 exchanges, and any other topics that you or others want to discuss.

We bring specialists in each area to discuss particular topics. But most importantly, it's a chance to meet fellow investors and experts who can answer questions or learn about off market deals that are brewing. Hope to see you there!

This month's topic: Increasing the Sale Price of Multi-Family Properties Through Tenancy In Common Conversions Come join us for the monthly Meet Up of the LA Multifamily Real Estate Networking Group! Each month we hope to tackle a different aspect of multifamily real estate investing in Los Angeles. It's a chance to hear from experts in the field as well as meet other multifamily real estate investors and hear about off market deals. This month's subject: Learn how to increase resale value by marketing your multi-family to homebuyers as a condominium alternative without the cost, uncertainty and hassle of a condominium conversion. With fractional financing, each buyer can get his/her own, individual mortgage. This month's speaker: Andy Sirkin received his law degree Magna Cum Laude from Boston College in 1984, where he was an editor of Boston College Law Review and initiated into Order Of The Coif. He was admitted to the California Bar in 1984. His law practice has focused on shared-use real estate for 35 years, during which he has provided services for more than 8,000 properties. He created the template for the modern TIC agreement in 1985, and gave the first of many TIC workshops in 1988. He worked closely with the California Department of Real Estate to create a public report procedure for TICs in 2001, and was the primary consultant when DRE created TIC regulations in 2008. He was instrumental in convincing lenders to offer fractional TIC financing in beginning in 2004, and assisted five lenders in creating their fractional lending programs and associated documents. His article “Question and Answers On Tenancy In Common”, which first appeared in 1987, has remained the reference standard for TIC buyers, sellers and Realtors, and has been viewed more than a million times Every session, Will Tiao of Tiao Properties will go over different deals that are currently on the market in various parts of the City, including basics such as how to analyze rates of return.
