Come and see Sustainable, Organic, working Urban Farms in the Altadena/Pasadena area, 3 of which have incorporated chickens. This is organized by the Institute of Urban Ecology. Pre-Registration REQUIRED (Pre-Register Here (http://www.instituteofurbanecology.org/june-bloom/))
TALK to REAL URBAN FARMERS, and find out how YOU CAN START an urban farm in YOUR HOME! We’ll visit:
- Panther Ridge Farms: an Altadena Homestead featuring chickens & laundry-to-landscsape greywater
- Whisper Farms: an Altadena based farm featuring Aquaponics, in ground beds, and chickens
- Salinas Family Farm: an Altadena based homestead
- Woods Family Farm: a San Marino Homstead featuring chickens, drought tolerant edible landscape, and aquaponics
The farm tour will be facilitated by carpooling. We will meet at Loma Alta Park (3330 Lincoln Ave Altadena, CA 91001) to arrange carpools at 9:30am and proceed from there. If you are willing to lead a carpool (you would drive a car of 4-6 people), please email us at info@instituteofurbanecology.org .
We will provide fruit and small snacks for lunch. Please bring your own brown bag packed lunch.

11:30am to 12:30pm – Tour of Whisper Farms
12:30pm to 1:30pm – Lunch at Whisper Farms
1:30pm to 2:00pm – Travel
2:00pm to 3:00pm – Tour of Salinas Family Farm
3:00pm to 3:30pm – Travel
3:30pm to 4:30pm – Tour of Woods Family Farm
