Welcome, everyone! 😄 Join our professional tour guide, educator, food adventurers, and urban explorers who will introduce and guide you to Los Angeles Korea Town and beyond! This is for anyone who is interested in experiencing, exploring, and learning about Korean culture, Korean food, Korea Town, as well as all the amazing other cultures, sub-cultures, and cuisines in and around Los Angeles.
1Hupe.org is a small non-profit that is creating a community by bringing together people from diverse cultures and backgrounds through fun, immersive, delicious, and interesting educational activities in the vibrant cultural enclaves in and around Los Angeles.
We currently create immersive experiences in Korean culture through specially designed food and walking tours in different areas of Korea Town(K-Town), where we learn about Korean traditional and modern culture; explore different shops; Korean products in super markets; and eat together and learn about Korean foods. We do many different activities and events around Korean culture and Korea town!
We have food and cooking events, activities geared around K- pop, drama, fashion, beauty, and traditional Korean health and wellness.
You are allowed to join with whatever name and whatever photo you choose. HOWEVER the organizers may request you change either name or photo at their discretion. Names that are products, promotional, advertisements..etc.. are red flags that will be requested to change or be removed.
If you are using a photo that is not your face, a current face photo may be requested. Fake name and fake photo will be requested to change to a real photo and a real name or face removal. Real photo and fake name is usually fine. Fake photo and real name is usually fine. If you need to maintain privacy of both then contact the organizers and just make the request.
*** We would like our meetups to be comfortable and safe for everyone so that they can enjoy and participate in all the activities.
1) Please be respectful to all other members and their privacy!! Do Not randomly contact members you haven't met or haven't had the ok to contact. This is NOT Tinder or Craigslist. Get to know people at events with proper respect and boundaries. We recommend that you DO NOT ask unwelcome intrusive personal questions; make unwelcome or inappropriate comments or behave inappropriately.
2) Always let the organizer know if you cannot make an event. You can take yourself off the RSVP so other people can take your spot or alert the organizer if you have a last minute emergency and unable to attend.
3) Please do not solicit money from other members or try to sell anything to anyone.
4) We also discourage people from engaging in argumentative divisive political discussions during the events/activities.
If you are reported or observed doing any of the above you may be removed from the group.
