What we're about
Los Angeles Death Talk is a group for anyone interested in discussing and learning more about end-of-life care, dying and death.
Death Talk serves as a space for people who are curious about end-of-life care and rights, dying, and death. Talks will range from medical aid in dying to green burials to planning an advance health care directive. We want to educate and empower individuals to make informed end-of-life decisions.
All members of the community are encouraged to join.
This group is facilitated by volunteers of Compassion & Choices California. C&C encourages conversations about CA's End of Life Option Act (medical aid in dying), voluntary stopping of eating and drinking (VSED), hospice and palliative care, choosing the best hospice for your needs and accessibility to your full range of end-of-life care options.
You are unique. Your death should be too.
-Respect those who are speaking.
-Allow the member to finish their thought and refrain from interrupting.
-Allow for all members to participate. If you are someone who feels comfortable speaking in large groups, make space for others to share.
-Voice concerns about the group dynamic to the leader at the end of the Talk.
What I will not tolerate:
-Raised voices, bullying or abusive comments.
The guidelines may change as I become more familiar with the group.
If you cannot adhere to these guidelines, please do not attend.
