What we're about

Our "2020" Vision:

Welcome to…... Death over Drafts Happy Hour previously Be Present: “End of Life” Conversations Meet Up formerly known as Death Talk Los Angeles. There is always transition :)

This is and will continue to be a group for anyone interested in discussing, learning and connecting to community that focuses on end-of-life care, dying and death. In addition, we are now introducing a new component which includes a passion and partaking in craft beers and happy hours (although not a requirement)!

This meet-up serves as a space (not literal-our events will be hosted at various breweries) for people who are curious and/or might need support around end-of-life care, conversation and planning, which is everyone! Informal and intimate yet facilitated conversations will range in topics from medical to spiritual to wellness.

All members of the community are encouraged to join. Please note this is not a bereavement, grief or support group. So if this is a sensitive topic, we want to be respectful of you and others in this space and we hope you understand appropriate etiquette.

This meet up is now being managed by Stefanie Elkins, Continuum of Care Coach and Consultant at Be Present Care previously CA Medical Outreach Manager at Compassion & Choices. I am very excited and humbled to be curating this meet-up that will hopefully provide you with an opportunity to gain insight, connections and resources around end of life care conversations and planning. On my professional journey working for and with individuals with terminal and chronic illness, family caregivers, and healthcare professionals/organizations, I look forward to holding space for and with you.
