Invite you to an educational field-trip and mindful hike at Hugh Taylor Birch State Park with a focus on Florida Native Edible Plants

Date: Saturday, December 18th
Time: 09:30 am

This activity is suitable for th whole family. Bring your children, friends, and dogs too!

Hugh Taylor Birch State Park is an oasis of tropical hammocks that preserves four distinct natural communities, nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway. We will mindfully hike along the trails and learn about local plants and wildlife as well as Florida native edibles.

At the end of the hike with us, you can rent a canoe and paddle along a mile-long freshwater lagoon, bike or skate along the paved park road, cross over to the beach via the pedestrian tunnel under A1A, or rest at one of the picnic areas overlooking the channel. You may also want to visit The Terramar Visitor Center featuring displays regarding the area's natural and cultural history. The park is open from 8:00 a.m. until sundown, 365 days a year.

There is no charge for the guided hike, but there is a per-vehicle park entrance fee of $4.00 to $6.00 (incentive to carpool!); or a $2.00 Admission Fee for pedestrians and bicyclists.
