This is the second of three one-on-one classes (two sessions each) being offered - one student per class. This class includes two sessions: 10/23/18 and 10/31/18.
Description: The basic Computer Numerical Control (CNC) milling class is an introduction to machining wood on a CNC. Students will mill two projects while working on CNC safety and proficiency using the Sherline Mini-Mill. The basic class is a prerequisite for the advanced class on the Loveland CreatorSpace CNC Router. The advanced class will utilize the same methodology from the basic class while teaching students how to operate a larger and more powerful machine. CreatorSpace members must complete both basic and advanced classes to operate the CNC Router.
Who Should Attend: This is the initial offering of the Basic CNC Milling class. This initial class is intended for those who want to contribute to the maintenance of the Sherline Mini Mill and the LCS CNC router plus grow member knowledge. This class may be adjusted to different skill levels. However, attendees need to demonstrate safety and proficiency to pass the class. Passing the basic class is a prerequisite for the Advanced CNC Router class.
Prerequisites: Members should be familiar with Fusion 360 by either taking Brad Tallis' class or by taking the Autodesk Fusion 360 tutorials (both Model tutorials and CAM tutorials). Members should also read the pre-reading available at https://sites.google.com/view/cncrouter/training
Pricing: The first three basic class slots are being offered at half price.
Future Advanced CNC Router class: The CNC Router is undergoing upgrades and maintenance. When the work is complete, graduates will be invited to attend the Advanced CNC Router class.
