The goal is to replace trees in Loveland, street trees and otherwise that have been devastated in recent years because of disease and neglect. Loveland was not too many years ago a Tree City USA when a concerted effort to plant trees was successful, however over time many of those trees are no longer here. This is a grassroots effort.

Please take the time to send the form via email to lovelandmagazine@cinci.rr.com (lovelandmagazine@cinci.rr.com).

Here is the link to the form to either volunteer or donate $$ to the Loveland Tree Planting Alliance. http://lovelandmagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Tree-Planting-Information-and-Order-Form.pdf

Trees are supplied. If you have a shovel, that is great, but don't worry about it if you don't. It takes two people to plant a tree so some people can shovel and some can hold the tree. Also there will be mulching to do. For anyone who cannot attend this volunteer event, donations are needed to cover the cost of the trees. Trees cost $25 each but any amount is accepted. We will meet at 8 am at the Loveland Elementary School on Loveland Maderia in the parking lot.

Reasons to help with this effort.

• Trees absorb carbon dioxide, removing and storing the carbon and releasing the oxygen back into the air.

• Trees absorb odors and pollutants.

• Trees cool the streets and the city.

• Trees help prevent water pollution.

• Trees mark the seasons.

• Trees are teachers and playmates.

• Trees provide habitat for wildlife.

• Trees increase property values.

• Trees calm traffic.

• Tree plantings provide an opportunity for community involvement and empowerment that improves the quality of life in our neighborhoods.

Each person will be assigned an area to plant a couple of trees. Please feel free to add a friend to your reservation!
