THE TALKS
The climate challenge: C40 and how cities will get the job done
The talk will describe what C40 Cities is and how the megacities of the world are tackling the key challenge of our time: climate change.
C40 is a network of the world’s megacities committed to addressing climate change. Acting both locally and collaboratively, C40 cities are having a meaningful global impact in reducing both greenhouse gas emissions and climate risks. C40 brings together a unique set of assets and creates a shared sense of purpose. C40 offers cities an effective forum where they can collaborate, share knowledge and drive meaningful, measurable and sustainable action on climate change.
Caterina Sarfatti, Programme Manager for Special Projects at C40 ( http://www.c40.org )

Microsoft Journey to DevOps
Microsoft’s Developer Division transformed its Team Foundation Server with a Software-As-A-Service (SaaS) offering, now known as Visual Studio Team Services, that is also the backbone of its own engineering system. This is the story of moving to cloud-first development and modern DevOps practices, while growing both the SaaS and traditional software business.
Thomas Geske, ALM Specialist, Microsoft Schweiz ( http://www.microsoft.ch )
Thomas Geske has been active in software development for 15 years. He implemented projects in various industries based on the Microsoft technology stack. In his current role as an ALM specialist, he supports development teams to adapt and implement the Microsoft Visual Studio tools as well as ALM & DevOps.
