How to Write About Your Work & Present it with Confidence (ft. Mike Curtis)
While it’s not news that most hiring managers seek candidates with strong written and verbal communication skills, many applicants struggle to both write and deliver their work confidently. Similarly, even seasoned product builder's nerves kick in when presenting their work in front of others. The famous poet, Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” This powerful message reminds us that in each touchpoint of the product design process, we as the builders of that product must know ourselves and have a voice. We must find our style, our tone, and our delivery method to build amazing products. In this Lunch UX Meetup, Mike will lead us in exploring key ingredients you can throw into the mix to up your own writing and presentation game. Leveraging tried and true methods and combining them with a fresh new perspective, you’ll leave this Meetup ready to write and talk about your work in a new way – your way. Afterward, we’ll apply our learnings in workshop style to glean and learn from our peers. Lunch will be provided.

    What we're about

It's not about high level slide-decks, listening to professional presenters, or theoretical design thinking malarkey. Lunch UX is about real people - working designers - teaching and sharing their real experiences and talking about what they love and learn over a few slices of crappy Dominos pizza. Lunch UX welcomes more than just UX designers; product designers, graphic designers, marketing designers, information architects, typographers, hamburger wrapper designers, all designers are welcome, so please join us. We meet the last Friday of every month at high noon.
