Friday, April 19 Amsterdam, capital of the Netherlands We have beautiful accommodations waiting for you at the Hotel Vondel, a classic boutique hotel located in the center of Amsterdam. Saturday, April 20 We'll take a full day to explore two picturesque locales...Keukenhof Gardens and Kinderdijk. Sit back and relax as our roomy coach ensures comfort and plenty of room for photography gear. We'll return to the Hotel Vondel after our tour. Sunday, April 21 Northeast Holland Utrecht - Utrecht is a city in the central Netherlands that has been a religious center for centuries. It has a medieval old town, canals, Christian monuments and a venerable university. Naarden - Naarden is a small town located to the east of Amsterdam. Famous for its 'star fort' grid which resembles a giant snowflake from the air, Naarden is one of the best preserved fortified towns in Europe. Urk - The fishing village of Urk is centuries old and has a unique history and culture. The Urk dialect is still spoken there, and we will take wonderful walks through the ancient alleyways (known as ginkies) and streets. Noordoostpolder - Noordoostpolder has the largest tulip field area in the Netherlands! On average more than four meters below sea level, the bottom of the former Zuiderzee has proven to be very suited for the cultivation of tulips. During the Tulip Festival, which usually runs mid-April to early May, many multi-acre fields of tulips bloom every spring in the Noordoostpolder. The tulip fields are vast and the tulips come in many different colors and varieties. We will spend the night in Giethoorn at the Hotel Harmonie where we'll enjoy a complimentary three-course group dinner! Monday, April 22 A full day that includes canal boat rides and leisurely strolls through some beautiful historical villages. Giethoorn - Giethoorn is a mostly car-free village in the northeastern Dutch province of Overijssel. It’s known for its boat-filled waterways, footpaths, bicycle trails and centuries-old thatched-roof houses. Stavoren - The shores of the IJsselmeer are unique. The circle of towns and villages around the lake enjoy a nostalgic charm. Hindeloopen - We'll step back in time in Hideloopen. It's a picturesque and lively fishing village in the Friesland region of the Netherlands. Sneek - or Snits as the locals call it, is a pleasant city right in the heart of the Frisian Lakes district, in the Northern Netherlands. It's a bustling center for water sports, boating and ice skating, but also home to much monumental architecture and lovely town views. We'll spend the night at the Post-Plaza Hotel-Leeuwarden. Tuesday, April 23 Leeuwarden and surrounding area Explore with Michael as you discover the charms of the incredibly photogenic town of Leeuwarden. Visit Drents-Friese Wold National Park for landscape and possible wildlife photography. Time permitting you may explore one of the many small fishing villages that dot the area. Again we'll spend the night at the Post-Plaza Hotel. Wednesday, April 24 Scenic road trip back to Amsterdam Meander your way back to Amsterdam. Photo opportunities include the Noord-Holland which boasts the world's single largest flower bulb fields, as well as numerous other photo stops along the way. Our driver will take us across the 20-mile long "Afsluitdijk" causeway as we return to our comfortable and familiar Hotel Vondel. Thursday, April 25 Independent exploration of Amsterdam There is so much to see, do and photograph in Amsterdam. Morning and evening photo walks with Michael with an afternoon free for independent exploration of the many sights, restaurants, and museums of this incredible city. We have reservations for one last night at Hotel Vondel. Friday, April 26 Schiphol Airport All good things must end. We will arrange for group transportation back to the airport.     What we're about

    We are a group of photographers taking excursions with lots of hands-on instruction. Michael will teach you how to see the picture as well as record it.

    We practice exercises in seeing images and using appropriate camera settings to record the image as to inspire our viewers.

    The most important thing is to have fun. All skill levels are welcome and encouraged to participate.
