About us
MAGNUM is a social group for gay men that enjoy tasting and learning about wine in a social setting, with other gay men and their friends. In other words, this is a gay men's group at its core, but everyone is welcome!
This group will host a variety of events throughout the year, to accommodate different interests, budgets, and group sizes. This includes:
- Wine tastings with small bites
- Multi course dinners with wine pairings
- Less structured wine-related social events
*MAGNUM = The official name for a 1.5L bottle of wine. Magnum bottles are the equivalent of two regular bottles of wine.
UPDATE: 4/25/2023 - Magnum has a new organizer.. My name is Jeff & I am a longtime Magnum member & fellow wine-enthusiast. Love socializing & trying new wines. I look forward to meeting you (at a future event) soon!

Magnum Al Fresco: Second Sundays Picnic in Central Park!
Sheep Meadow (Southeast), New York, NY, USJoin us for a laid-back BYOB picnic in Central Park on August 9, one of the final Second Sundays of the summer! If you haven't heard of Second Sundays, it's the unofficial LGBTQ+ takeover of Sheep Meadow.
We'll be set up in a shady spot, so you can relax without roasting in the sun. Click here to view our Google Maps location.
What to bring:
- Your own beverages (wine, beer, cocktails—your call!)
- Cups for discreet outdoor drinking
- Snacks to share are always appreciated
- Small cooler or ice to keep you beverages cool
- Blanket or folding chair if you'd like your own seat
