MAGNUM is a social group for gay men that enjoy tasting and learning about wine in a social setting, with other gay men and their friends. In other words, this is a gay men's group at its core, but everyone is welcome!
This group will host a variety of events throughout the year, to accommodate different interests, budgets, and group sizes. This includes: + Wine tastings with small bites + Multi course dinners with wine pairings + Trips to local wine producing regions: North Fork, Hudson Valley, Finger Lakes, etc. + Less structured wine-related social events
In most cases the events will be private or semi-private (designated space), allowing us to get the most out of each event and each other. I mean who doesn’t love a private dining / party space?
I am a self taught wine enthusiast with a healthy(?) obsession with everything wine related. I enjoy researching and discussing different wines and wine regions, trends in the wine industry, and wine genology. Come enjoy some wine with us!
*MAGNUM = The official name for a 1.5L bottle of wine. Magnum bottles are the equivalent of two regular bottles of wine.
Wine Dive Wednesday has a nice ring to it, so Wine Dive is moving to Wednesday! Same great space (and patio), happy hour prices, awesome staff, delicious empanadas, and NEW wines to try.
As always for Wine Dive, show up when you can and bring friends!
There is no cost for this event. Everyone will be on their own tab.
Many people know that there is a lot of cross-over between Magnum and New York City Gay Craft Beer Lovers, which is run by Bill and several other organizers, many of which are also members of Magnum. We are pleased to announce the first collaborative meetup between the two groups!
This will be a little different from some of our other meetups and it should be a lot of fun!
Here are some key things to note:
1. Thanks to the generosity of Doug and Scott, it will be hosted at their place in Williamsburg. Since it's a private residence, attendance is limited.
2. This is a BYOB event. Bring your own wine and/or beer (or cider) as well as some to share!
3. Snacks will be provided but if you'd like to bring something to share, that's awesome!
4. The event is the same day as Brooklyn Pride so if you're already in Brooklyn, it will be easy to come to the event.
5. This will be a roof top event (weather permitting)
We will provide the address via email to the people who RSVP. For context, it's not too far from the Graham Avenue stop on the L train.
This should be a fun event and since it's a little different than past meetups, please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.
