MARS October Meeting: Journey to a Comet by Dr. Gregory Shanos

This month’s speaker is Mars Member Dr. Greg Shanos who will present a lecture entitled: Journey to a Comet.

Greg will discuss the fundamental anatomy of a comet such as the nucleus, coma, dust and plasma tails. The main focus will be a brief discussion of the six robotic spacecraft missions to comets namely Giotto, Deep Space 1, Deep Impact (NExT), Epoxy, Stardust and Rosetta Missions.

This is the October 2021 meeting for the MARS astronomy club, located in Tampa, Florida. We welcome everyone from everywhere in the universe.
