Eddie Fazer's Classic Ride No 1 to Finchingfield

Needs a location

Eddie Rides again to Finchingfield via some lovely fast paced roads through Herts and Essex on Eddies special roundabout, twisty route. A very firm favourite with the group on many occasions, if it ain't broke don't fix it. As this is a classic ride, we will stop at the bike friendly Bosworth's Tearooms in Finchingfield who serve all manner of sandwiches and snacks plus the usual beverages. Meeting - 09.30am / Shell Garage, Thorley St, Bishops Stortford CM23 3LA. Depart - Approx 09.45am Return - Approx 1pm Outward ride - Approx 40 miles / 1hr 30min + Break half way Return ride - Approx 40 miles / 1hr 10min 125cc friendly - Yes, you must be able ride up to speed limits on faster A roads - that means the national speed limit of 60mph on country roads. However, roads on this route are quiet and traffic free at most times making this a fairly stress-free nice ride. Ride leader - Eddie Fazer Ride Style Improvement of the Day: Riders to stagger themselves on the inside and outside of the road to improve visibility and emergence braking clearance. Also to pull up alongside other riders stopping at junctions and traffic lights to allow the maximum number of riders to exit together and keep formation. Essentials to Bring - A ready smile, good sense of humour and a determination to have a good day out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Everyone is responsible for their own safety, the safety of others and to ensure that their bike is roadworthy. Speed limits will be observed specially 30 and 40 mph limits.

This week we’ll ride from South Mimms services to the White Horse, Southill near Biggleswade ( https://www.thewhitehorsesouthill.co.uk) for lunch. Meet at 10 am for a coffee, ride at 10.30 (fueled and ready please). We aim to get to the pub at circa 12.45 for lunch before we head off home. Ride there is organised (well, relatively!), the ride back is not. The route file is here; https://www.myrouteapp.com/en/social/route/1815285?mode=share For Garmin users please download in Garmin 1.0 (old) format or you won't get the waypoints. As previously we run this ride as 'sensibly progressive' which means we seek to overtake where necessary and travel at national limits where possible. Please respect speed limits, particularly 30's and 40's! Not 125 friendly I'm afraid.
