What we're about

Join MEC Halifax for our 101 and 201 Bike Maintenance clinics!

Please note that you must register and pay for the MEC Bike Maintenance clinics on the MEC Events Page. All schedule changes, cancellations, and events communication will be made there.

We offer two 101 clinic. The first, "Minor Maintenance" covers bike parts and their function, diagnosing problems, performing basic adjustments, and when to bring your bike in for more major repairs. The second course "Fix a Flat" focuses on repairing a flat. The cost $10 per participant, and $20 when we combine the courses into a two-hour clinic.

The 101 clinics prepare you for our more advanced bike maintenance 201 clinics. These $65 full-day clinics focus on brakes, derailleurs, drivetrain, and members can bring their own bikes in provided they are clean and in reasonable working order. We also offer a wheel truing clinic which costs $20 per participant.
