Apache Hive is a constantly evolving project which continues to enjoy great adoption in the big data ecosystem. As Hive continues to grow its support for analytics, reporting, and interactive query, the community is hard at work in improving it along with many different dimensions and use cases.

Bio

Bill Preachuk is employed by Hortonworks as a Hadoop Solutions Engineer in the Twin Cities.

He has almost 3 decades (yikes!) of experience doing all forms of data-related work -Database Administration, EDW, Performance Tuning, System Architecture.

Bill specializes in Ingestion, Data Design, and BI Analytics for the broader Hadoop ecosystem: Hive, Druid, Sqoop, NiFi, Data Movement, EDW Augmentation, and Data Archival. He also runs the Data Transformation & Analytics Subject Matter Expert (SME) program for Hortonworks.
