Hello, Stoic Fellows!
A few announcements from us regarding our upcoming MeetUps for the MKE Stoic Fellowship (https://www.meetup.com/MKE-Stoic-Fellowship/). We've got big things happening in October, and wanted to share some information about the November and the December MeetUp dates as well.
For our October MeetUp, in honor of Stoic Week 2017, we will explore the topic of Stoicism & the Workplace.
This will be a facilitated discussion, hosted by Andi Sciacca, Shaun Miller, and Greg Sadler. No previous experience / reading is required and we're looking forward to a great discussion!
More information (including a media kit for you to share with others) has been posted to DropBox. Please feel free to share the Press Release on Stoic Week (http://bit.ly/2yXPqjS) - and the official event flyer for our October MeetUp (http://bit.ly/2ynVLYE).
Both of these documents can be downloaded, printed, and shared with whomever you wish. The flyer has also been posted below as an image for sharing on social media. We're looking forward to some BIG events this month!
In terms of November's MeetUp, which will take place on Thursday, November 30th, we wanted to make sure everyone had the information for the upcoming text:
Seneca's Letters from a Stoic (available on Amazon) (http://amzn.to/2yUpcOW)
As agreed in the September MeetUp, we will begin with the first 18 letters. The focus of our discussion will be what we found interesting or useful, and their applications to our own lives, work, and relationships.
Greg will be getting the Loeb edition (http://amzn.to/2xZk1iD), with Latin and English on facing pages, which also uses the same translation as the text we chose - so if we want to check the original language during our sessions, we'll easily be able to do so.
And please, even if you haven't yet read the text, join us!
As for December, we'll meet a week early that month - so please mark your calendars for Thursday, December 21st.
That's it for now - looking forward to seeing everyone for this October MeetUp!
Please also see the Discussion Forum space (https://www.meetup.com/MKE-Stoic-Fellowship/messages/boards/) on this MeetUp to connect and re-connect with other MKE Stoic Fellows.
