Digital Markets and Cryptocurrencies. NFT Market -

Recent years have witnessed the explosion of the market of cryptocurrencies, digital assets designed to work as a medium of exchange.
In this talk, we will present recent research in the field, focusing on aspects including:

• the statistical properties of the market;
• the dynamic of competition between currencies;
• the interplay between technological development and market behaviour;
• and the prediction of market prices and returns.
  In the final part of the talk, we will introduce a recent study of the market of Non Fungible Tokens, units of data certifying the uniqueness of digital assets, whose use has recently diffused in the context of Digital Art, Gaming, and Digital Collectibles.

Bios:

# Luca Aiello

Luca Aiello holds a PhD in Computer Science from the university of Turin, Italy. He is currently an Associate Professor at the IT University of Copenhagen.
Previously, he worked for 10 years as a Research Scientist in the industry: at Yahoo Labs in Barcelona, and at Bell Labs in Cambridge (UK).
He is currently working on text analysis techniques that, when applied to conversations, can help understand people's social behavior and psychological well-being. His work been covered by hundreds of news articles published by news outlets worldwide including Wired, WSJ, and BBC.

# Laura Alessandretti

Laura Alessandretti is Assistant Professor in Modelling of Human Dynamics at the Technical University of Denmark, and Guest Scientist at Denmark Statistcs.
She researches aspects of Human Behaviour through the statistical analysis and modelling of large-scale digital datasets, largely collected from smartphones.
Some of the topics she is working on include: Human Mobility, Smartphone applications usage, Digital assets.
