Session 1 Abstract: Nowadays we are dealing with super efficient auto-tuning database servers but our queries sometimes run very slow. Everything looks ok but in our monitoring tools we can see higher resource consumption, wait statistics associated with locks or tempdb activity etc. What is the reason of this? During the session I will show few not very well-known aspects of work with SQL Server that can affect performance of specific queries and entire instance. During the session you will find a lot of practical demonstrations and tips that will help you diagnose specific problems and errors.

Session 2 Abstract: Power BI Power Hour is one hour of demo. Meaning we will spend entire hour to see how to use the Power BI. We will see the latest features as well as practical examples and crazy ideas that we can implement in Power BI.
Session 2 Speaker bio: Slawomir Drzymala is a Data Warehouse Developer and a big enthusiast of the Microsoft technologies, which is still playing with data, the .NET technologies and Microsoft's data products. Big fan of the data mining/data science, but also of the self-service BI. Speaker at many different events including the biggest Microsoft SQL Server conference in Poland. Organizer of the meetings, conferences and hackathon dedicated to the Microsoft Data Platform.
