Our 2022 Western trip will be to Squaw Valley / Alpine Meadows. Squaw Valley, the setting for the 1960 Olympics, is known for its legendary steeps and lively village. Alpine Meadows has its empty back bowls and unpretentious vibe. Both are blessed with tremendous amounts of snow and views of Lake Tahoe.
Despite being known for its challenging runs, there is plenty of terrain for all levels of skiers & boarders, with 67% of the terrain is rated green and blue/dark blue.
We will be staying at the Village at Squaw Valley. Lodging will be two bedrooms / 2 bath condos with full kitchens, a fireplace, balcony and WIFI. The Village is where it's at. It offers everything from cold craft brews to sushi, shopping, art galleries, ice skating and more.
We fly out of MSP on Monday, 03/07 and return on Sunday, 03/13, which will give you the opportunity to ski up to 5 days.
What will all of this cost? The "Early Bird" base price is $1,162 + lift tickets and air fare. Lift ticket costs are dependent on the number of days that you want to ski/ride. Airfare has not yet been finalized, but is anticipated at $385.
This trip will sell out. Last year's Breckenridge trip (canceled due to Covid-19), was sold out by late September.
SkiHawk members will have priority registration until June 15th. After that date, registration will be open to other MSC affiliated members. Act quickly so you don't miss out.
Interested? Go to the SkiHawk web site (copy www.mnskihawks.org into your browser) for more information and to register on line. Register by 09/05 for best pricing.
MeetUp RSVPs will not reserve your spot. You must be a paid rostered member of the SkiHawks or a MSC affiliated club to attend this event.
If you have questions, PM Western Trip Coordinators Steve Fager or Greg Grebinowski via MeetUp.
