Meet & Ski at Welch Village

The Ski Hawks will be at Welch Village on Sunday Dec. 27th for our first Meet & Ski of the 2020-21 season. Unfortunately, Covid 19 has added a few twists. Per the Governor’s executive orders, we will not be able to have our usual cookout and bonfire get together nor will we be able to schedule a ‘formal’ gathering. We will see each other on the slopes, at the base and hopefully at a firepit during a break (look for yellow).

Covid 19 has also changed how Welch Village will operate this season. Most importantly, lift tickets and rentals must be purchased on line, in advance. On-line tickets are limited and tickets will not be available for purchase on site. As of 12/21, the Village was not 100% open. Please check the snow report at http://www.welchvillage.com/ prior to purchasing your tickets.

Bring your on-line or prepaid voucher to the outside ticket window at the main chalet where it will be exchanged for a lift ticket. Once you have your lift ticket you can drive to the Jaxx Bar & Grill area where we tend to hang.

Pass holders can still have their passes scanned at Jaxx.

You will have to boot up in your car, as neither the main chalet or Jaxx will be open for changing or equipment storage.

The main chalet will only be open for restroom use, grab and go food and takeout bar service.

As usual, the SkiHawks will tend to congregate at Jaxx Bar & Grill. This Sunday however, Jaxx will not be open, except for takeout food and bar service. Takeout windows have been installed on the parking lot side of Jaxx. Portable firepits are scattered in front and alongside of Jaxx and the main chalet for warm up. Restroom facilities at Jaxx are limited to outdoor portables.

Our members usually begin to arrive at 9:00 and continue throughout the day. Watch for our yellow bandanas, pole flags and arm/leg and helmet bands. This swag will be important this year, as we will not have specific gathering spots. Rostered members, please bring and wear your swag so that our new and Meetup members can find us. President Greg Grebinowski will have a supply of available swag for purchase by rostered members.

Be sure to dress appropriate, as warm up sites are limited to firepits and our cars.
