Meet other local people who enjoy playing Magic: the Gathering in the DC metro area (DC, Southern Maryland and Northern Virginia).
Q: Do you have a Discord?
A: Of course we do. It includes copious chat rooms for whatever you want to play. Go here to join: https://discord.gg/dnHrwP7acF. I don't get in there too often, so if you need something, your best bet is always to message me here.
Q: Who should join us?
A: Anyone who lives or plays in the area and wants to get into the original collectible card game, more specifically- you! We play both casual and competitive events and have everything from new players to twenty year veterans. We also like to combine events with social gatherings, so on occasion we have stuff like BBQs, MTG and beer, MTG and movie night.
Q: What are the benefits of joining us?
A: In addition to meeting other Magic players in the area, you can find others to trade with, people to bounce ideas off of, people to carpool with to tournaments.. word on the street is that all the cool kids in DC are in our group.
Q: Where do you usually play?
A: We play in a few local stores as well as at player's homes. Wherever you go in DC you are bound to run into some players from the meetup.

Commander Tuesdays
Nic's House, 3129 King St, Alexandria, VA, USThis is a weekly Commander event, at Nic's place in Alexandria. We are a chill semi regular group, most of us have been playing in the Meetup for over a decade and welcome new and veteran members.
Time: starts at 6pm but show up any time after. We usually go to 10/11.
Format: still experimenting with the new brackets. If you haven't updated your decks for brackets, thats okay - just let us know before we start.
House rules:
- 1 free extra mulligan, plus 1 extra for any zero or 6+ land hands (show us)
- We use Partial Paris Mulligans beyond your free mulligans
- We try to follow the bracket list for game changers and play 2 & 3 bracket mostly, but are happy to do house rules to accommodate something (full list and brackets HERE)
- Mana Crypt is permitted***
- Un cards and other funny non-legal cards can be rule zero/house ruled before the match starts, if you ask us
- Proxies are okay, but must be readable
- Alcohol is okay, but must use my cup holders and if you get too drunk or rowdy, you are out
- I'll provide snacks and some basic drinks
Note: Location is provided below, but know that you can easily reach my place via metro (King Street then take bus 31 or walk to my house) or from 395 take King Street exit.

4 PM New Year's Jumpstart Cube!
1743 S Hayes St apt a, Arlington, VA, USI have evening plans for New Year's but still want to get some Magic in, so I'll be hosting the public debut of a Jumpstart cube I assailed my family with this Christmas! It's (mostly) designed to be beginner-friendly, with a power level just above Jumpstart limited.
We've got Necrons! Hobbits! Angels! Lizards! Birds! Towns! Gates! Avatar and Zendikar Allies! I went crazy and combed through my collection, making just shy of 60 Jumpstart decks, and a spreadsheet that helps me track and randomize them.

Derogatory comments of any kind are unacceptable, as is behavior that may make others uncomfortable, such as rage-quitting. If the stresses of the game are getting to you, we encourage you to politely sit out for a while. Thank you!
TARDINESS POLICY
If you're more than 10 minutes late, I'll enlist my wife to draft for you until your arrival. If she's unavailable, we'll make random, blind picks for you.
