// About The Speaker

Melanie Walkty is a dedicated educator with 10 years of professional experience working in post-secondary institutions, most recently as a Career Advisor in the Faculty of Education at McGill University. She completed her M.A. in Second Language Education (McGill) in 2010 and B.A. in French & English Literature (Saint-Boniface University) in 2003. Her current position as Career Advisor has sparked a strong interest to deepen her knowledge and skills in career-related services by working in an environment that prioritizes student success, and encourages life-long learning and wellness. Above all, she feels deeply rewarded by the strong student relationships she has cultivated during her career, which have provided her with many opportunities to listen to and advise students one-on-one regarding their personal trials, academic challenges and employment obstacles.
