#MLDublin meets @Zalando
Details
We are thrilled to be back at Zalando for meetup #14, (big thanks to Deirdre and the team).

This month we are really pleased to say that we got an all-female speaker line-up for the event. We hope that this encourages and supports more engagement from women in the Machine Learning meet up (and we'd be happy to receive your ideas on how better to support more gender balanced access to the events)

AGENDA:
[18:00 - 18:45] Registration, networking and refreshments
[18:45 - 18:50] Welcome message
[18:50 - 19:15] Dr. Ana Peleteiro Ramallo (Data Scientist, Zalando): "Recurrent Neural Networks for NLP"
An introduction to RNNs, and why they are particularly useful for NLP problems. Including some use examples, as well as some up-skilling tips
[19:15 - 19:35] Dr. Amelia Kelly (Director of Speech Technologies, Soapbox Labs)
"Deep neural networks for high accuracy children's speech recognition."
In this talk Amelia will look at some of the acoustic modelling techniques used in speech recognition over the years and how the adoption of deep neural networks have led to a breakthrough in accuracy results. She will then talk about some of the new challenges faced by speech recognition for kids and how we might use deep neural networks to maintain high accuracy in these new conditions.
[19:35 - 20:00] Dr. Annalina Caputo (Research Fellow, Personalised Information Retrieval, ADAPT Centre @Trinity College):
"Diachronic Analysis of Language exploiting Google Ngram"
The diachronic analysis of language studies the language evolution over time. In this talk, I will introduce some methods for the diachronic analysis that rely on Distributional Semantic Models built over Google Ngram. I will show some preliminary results obtained for the Italian language and future work and challenges of this kind of analysis.
[20:00 - 21:00] : Networking
