We're excited to welcome Ralf Mayet, Research Scientist at Hanson Robotics in Hong Kong for a talk at Tokyo Chapter in Roppongi. Ralf will share insights on his work related to creating human-like robots and the challenges in social robotics.
-- AGENDA --
18:30 Doors open
19:00 - 19:40 Challenges in Social Robotics, Ralf Mayet
19:40 - 20:10 Q&A
20:10 - 21:00 Networking
-- TALK --
This talk will explore recent advances and challenges in social robotics. Natural human-machine interaction has been studied extensively for decades. Today, virtual assistants on phones and in the home are becoming increasingly popular. Powered by the advances in Deep Learning, relevant machine perception has become better, and more accessible for researchers. What are some of the important aspects to consider when designing social robots?
-- SPEAKER --
Ralf Mayet is Research Scientist at Hanson Robotics, currently focused on machine learning for perception and action in social robotics. https://www.hansonrobotics.com/
He holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Technology in Graz and currently lives in Hong Kong. With a research background in swarm robotics, self-regulating systems and emergent intelligence, his goal is to understand the complexity of life, and have fun making crazy robots in the process.
