Power Pop Health

In 2010 I discovered Open Data and was amazed by the possibilities. I also saw how many of these Open Data sets were focused on topics that impacted Healthcare. With a background in Biology/Genetics and a passion for Healthcare, I used these data sets for learning purposes and building out demos for Healthcare customers. Recently a few customers expressed interest in ways to help them ingest public data for use with Population Health analytics such as Social Determinants of Health. I decided to build Power Pop Health as a collection of my previous work with Healthcare Open Data, and as a framework that can be used by others. Power Pop Health is a collection of content intended to simplify the process of ingesting and prepping Healthcare Open Data for Analytics, Business Intelligence, and more. Power Pop Health has a simple mission: Make it easy for you to ingest, transform and format Healthcare Open Data and common reference tables so that you can achieve more.

Greg Beaumont, Business Intelligence Technical Specialist - Microsoft

I’ve worked as a Business Intelligence Technical Specialist in Microsoft’s Healthcare division for 5 years. Previously I worked in consulting with a focus on using Microsoft products for Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, and Advanced Analytics. I decided to specialize in Healthcare and the Microsoft stack back in 2007 while building a solution to analyze EMR data with ProClarity and SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services. I live in Minnesota and enjoy the outdoors and spending time with family.
