What we're about

This is a group for people interested in traditional role-playing games, such as Original D&D, 1st Edition AD&D, Classic Traveller, Daredevils, Pendragon, Call of Cthulhu and many others, including games like Microlite 74, Labyrinth Lord, Swords & Wizardry. We also play more contemporary RPGs such as Savage Worlds and GURPS - usually with an "Old School" flair. If you played any of these games in the past, or are COMPLETELY NEW to them, we're happy to have you come and play. We advertise on both Meetup and Facebook, so our general attendance at weekly meetups is closer to 40+ than the numbers listed here.

3rd Saturday Roleplaying

Madison Public Library: Hawthorne Branch

Hey, everybody! It's that time again - our 3rd Saturday Gaming Session at Hawthorne Library! For this month, we have the following exciting games: The Gobbo-Chew Case Files (JUDGE DREDD RPG by Games Workshop) GM: Jason Pasch A rash of dead bodies leads to an investigation deep below the city and unveils a threat of intergalactic proportions. If the Judges don’t put an end to a seemingly innocuous trend, they could be facing an epidemic that could cripple Mega-City One. City, City, Bang, Bang! (CLASSIFIED) GM: Ed McGlinn “CNN Headline News… Today, Famagusta in Northern Cyprus and Heraklion, on the Greek isle of Crete, burn, as a result of terrorist bombings. Dozens are confirmed dead, with the toll expected to climb into the hundreds. No organization has claimed responsibility and Western intelligence agencies are silent. Government sources are concerned that the attacks will at the minimum, inflame Greco-Turkish tensions in an already unstable region, and at worst, lead to a resumption of conflict between the two that could expand into a regional conflict involving Syria and Israel.” CLASSIFIED is a retro-clone of the 1980’s James Bond 007 RPG by Victory Games. Agents are recruits of a secret international agency known as GEMINI, seeking to keep the world from spinning out of control. Characters will be provided. People arrive between 9am and 9:30am, games begin shortly after that. No experience necessary - just show up and have fun!

Noble Knight Games

Here are the games running this session: New Campaigns: Division B(ad) Joel K - World of Darkness Welcome to the FBI's dead end, home for those agents too bizarre or awkward to work well with others but still talented enough to retain. Rumors circulate about Division B's cases though, about how they've seen things that defy conventional explanation. Note: This table has a no screens rule. Raiders of the Spiral Empire Ed McGlinn - Runequest Deluxe Ed. The boat rocks in the night sea, and you wonder at how the Gods must hate you. Once you had plans, but Byzantium, eater of dreams, dashed them. Your last obols went to buy transit to the last hope of the hopeless, the colony at Syracuse. Lying in the shadow of a Rome ruined by the Vandals, Syracuse is the last gamble of the desperate. Not because field work is hard (it is), but because the lure of sneaking off to Rome, to raid the riches of the lost city is too great. You do know that the Vandals don’t know mercy, and no one in sixty-four years has risked a raid to Rome, and returned to tell about it. Then you met the old man, and saw his map. Now you are on a stolen boat, at night, approaching the Italian shore… The Blood Dowry of Karakán’s Bride Jason Pasch - Empire of the Petal Throne A group of slaves are offered their freedom in exchange for the recovery of the kidnapped daughter of a wealthy lord. Recovering the missing girl will not be as simple as the lord thinks, and it will drag the team of heroes across the dangerous landscape of the Tsolyáni Empire and into the Hellish bowels of Tékumel’s lost underworld. The Rising Knight Brian - Castles & Crusades Malforten lies in the East March. This frontier region is known to be open to raiders, bandits, and other nefarious creatures who fear no retribution from the West; so many villainous malcontents and upstarts thus come here to raid, and with each passing success, act with ever more audacity. Now Malforten has come under a more dire and grievous threat than ever before. A viscous gnoll warrior has come to the Fallow Hills and his band of raiders has encroached ever more often upon the steads of Malforten, taking cattle, grain stores, and stealing away residents for slaves or worse. The Return of the Light? Jeff Griesel - Star Wars D6 Three months after the Battle of Endor, rumors and reports have been circulating about what happened. Among those reports are word about the death of Emperor Palpatine which changes the future of the galaxy. With the Emperor's efforts to hunt down the Jedi many tried to hide those who were touched by the Force. On a remote planet a group of young novice padawans and rookie Force users have been gathered by a mysterious protector to see if the universe is ready for the return of the Light. Continuing Campaigns: Ryuutama Nicole Leahy - Ryuutama In Suibom, it is tradition for people to undertake a great journey at least once in their lives. A few attract the attention of dragons to feed the tales of travelers to growing seasonal dragons. The summer moon has risen and one such band of travelers his setting forth from Norport across the Spanning Sea. Some seek adventure, some running from their past, and some to see new sights and know the land. Trouble at Acadia Academy Sam Haney Press - Changeling: the Dreaming (2nd Ed.) Just off the coast of Maine, there sits an island filled with natural beauty and a handful of small towns catering to fishermen and tourists. It is also the home to a very special school, for vagabonds and runaways and the disreputable scions of important families... but unrest brews on Mount Desert Island: the students of Acadia Academy have faced several attacks in the last few months, and a handful of them have resolved to get answers. Brian - AD&D 2nd Edition (still need an updated description) Our regular schedule is: 6-7pm - Gamers arrive; game session set-up; sign-in and socialize 7-10pm - Game sessions 10pm - Noble Knight Games closes
