Social Media is an important way to connect these days, but there are statistics that prove Face-To-Face, referral based networking is valid and important for doing business today: *3.3 billion brand mentions in 2.4 brand related conversation happen offline in America ever day *54% of Americans say that their purchase decisions are driven by word-of-mouth *59% of Americans believe offline or word-of-mouth to be highly credible The Madison WOM (Word of Mouth) business networking group is designed to facilitate developing close relationships with other business owners and sales drivers so giving a referral "feels" right. We are based off the BNI principles of one person per industry allowed in the group, but have removed the more stringent requirements. We'll meet twice per month for lunch at the Egg & I. A member will be highlighted as the meeting's 10 minute presenter. Each member will have an opportunity to introduce themselves and say a little about their business. To truly develop strong relationships we'll encourage 1:1 business meetings and host occasional social gatherings.
