Social: "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" for $5 Tuesday
Details
For early winter, Madison Women in Tech will be exploring space!
First, we'll be checking out the new Star Wars movie, "Rogue One." As with our summer outing to see "Ghostbusters," the connection to tech in this case might seem like a bit of a stretch, but the main character is essentially an astronaut, when you think about it.

ADDITIONAL WiT SPACE MEETUPS
For more space-focused WiT outings, check back soon for more info on following:
- Space junk: Earth's mechanical graveyard (https://www.meetup.com/Madison-Women-in-Tech/events/235692749/)
UW postdoctoral fellow Dr. Lisa Ruth Rand will be presenting on space junk, or the broken and unused satellites and other technical detritus floating around the earth: "The history of space junk provides valuable, unprecedented context for an international space policy community considering how to safeguard humanity's future in our increasingly crowded cosmic neighborhood."
- "Hidden Figures" (https://www.meetup.com/Madison-Women-in-Tech/events/235896898/)
We'll also be organizing an outing in January to see "Hidden Figures," the film about African-American women who just happened to be mathematicians at NASA in the 1960s (NBD, right?). It's incredible what these women were able to achieve.
