(3/23/2019): Whovians...for some time now I have wanted to start showing old Doctor Who episodes to group members that have never seen them. Since the reboot has only focused on a few Doctors, this year I will continue the process by going back to the Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) and his adventures.
We will once again use the banquet room at the Fillippi's in Kearny Mesa and I hope to have a full house. We are now being charged a room minimum of $350 dollars (plus service charge), so the more people that show up, the smaller the cost per person (otherwise, I have to pay the difference). So plan on around $20 a person (food/service charge/tax) and any food and beverages purchased counts towards the minimum.
The adventure we will watch is titled the “The Ark In Space” and stars the Fourth Doctor, Sarah Jane and Harry Sullivan. The Ark in Space is the second serial of the 12th season of the British science fiction television series Doctor Who, which was first broadcast in four weekly parts on BBC1 from 25 January to 15 February 1975.
A brief description: The Fourth Doctor's frist trip in the TARDIS brings him, with Sarah Jane and a very skeptical Harry Sullivan, many thousand years into the future to Nerva, a space station in Earth's orbit...and of course everything isn't as it seems and dangers lurks around the corner...
With all that said, I propose the following:
6:15-6:30 pm: Socializing and Ordering Food
6:30-7:25 pm: Episodes 1 & 2
7:25-7:35 pm: Break
7:35-8:30 pm: Episodes 3 & 4
There you go. A fun filled night with the Second Doctor and his companions!
